Braking Methods

Modern brakes were in the late 19th Century, about the same time as the tires. Until then, cars had wooden wheels were stopped by large blocks of wood in the lower position for the driver by a simple lever system. When they invented the pneumatic system of the block of wood was not good enough, so much speed that you get, which means that a new braking system, which have been invented.

To the basic principles of modern braking systems, it is easier to see a bicycle. Basically, if you put pressure on the brakes, the pressure is determined by the cable to the small pads on the side of the tire, and the force of friction against the tire causing it to stop.

In fact, the cars that were originally with the same cable system, but it was not as good at high speeds. Instead, the cables have been associated with hydraulic fluid, which is to transfer the driver put the pressure on the brake pedal. This works because the liquid can not be much smaller when pressure on them, which means that the pressure at one end is on the other side – like water flows through a pipe. However, if the brake fluid leak, even a little, and then the brakes may not work correctly, so it is very important to regularly check your brake fluid.

Of course, in modern cars, there are other mechanisms besides pure brake pressure to help. Most cars now have a vacuum system to create more friction in the brakes, and a servo-system that the actual speed of the vehicle to the pressure of more than one impact.

A word of warning, however: Some vehicles now have the brakes fully when the pedal sends an electrical signal to the brakes of the electrical power. While this makes it much easier to slow down, it is also prone to error, which means that if your car breaks down your computer does not seem to stop. Until this technology has been around a little more, it is probably better to keep to traditional methods of mechanical brakes.
